Technology
Overview
Leveraging a deep understanding of the mobile space and user needs, Celltick is constantly working to secure intellectual assets through patent applications in major jurisdictions around the globe. The Company has submitted, and in many cases already been granted, patents in several areas. These areas include idle screen client applications and idle screen advertising, multi-user mobile applications involving point-to-multipoint (PTMP) -- also known as multicasting --and point-to-point (PTP) delivery methods, and personalization and user activity tracking.
Dedicated to providing the best available technology for its groundbreaking offering, Celltick uses cell broadcast PTMP for transmitting content to mobile phones. By utilizing this delivery mechanism, Celltick ensures the most efficient distribution of a wide variety of content to a virtually unlimited number of subscribers.
Cell Broadcast PTMP
Cell broadcast (CB) is a highly efficient mechanism for rapidly distributing small-to-large amounts of information to multiple users simultaneously. Unlike SMS, which sends one message to one recipient at a time, CB can broadcast one message to millions of recipients across an entire network in just seconds. Since CB is location-sensitive, messages can also be targeted to as little as a single cell in a specific geographical area to ensure content relevance. Available on over 80% of all existing mobile phones, CB is user-selectable, and does not threaten user privacy, since information is sent to coverage zones rather than to individually identified users.
Advantages
By utilizing innovative technology, Celltick's state-of-the-art products provide several technical advantages over alternative offerings:
- Real-time alerts: The use of cell broadcast technology means that millions of subscribers can be alerted instantly
- Location-specific relevance: Different messages can be simultaneously sent to different areas to ensure delivery of relevant content
- Low network resource impact: Utilization of a small part of the signalling bandwidth means that network resources are affected minimally
- Overload-proof stability: Even when mobile networks are clogged with traffic, the system remains totally stable
- Multi-network integration: By sitting outside the network, the system can integrate with any combination of network infrastructure equipment
